Description:

Established in 1984, the Afro-American Historical Society Museum collects, preserves and interprets artifacts evocative of the rich culture and history of New Jersey's African-American community. In addition to its exhibitions and permanent collection, the museum presents events pertaining to Black History Month each February, and at other times throughout the year. Its home is the second floor of the Greenville Public Library, a few miles west of downtown, near New Jersey City University.
