A key part of the historic attractions collectively known as Liberty State Park, the restored Central Railroad of New Jersey Terminal offers ferry access to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It also features an exhibit on a notorious 1916 explosion at the nearby Black Tom munitions depot. The Terminal was once the spot where two-thirds of all immigrants to the U.S. boarded trains to their new homes. It and and the Park are located on the west bank of Upper New York Bay, just south of Jersey City.
